On April 20th 2006, Monkeyclaus recorded King Wilkie live at the Jefferson Theater in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia. It was an idyllic Virginia spring evening as the music echoed out into the downtown pedestrian mall, and King Wilkie delighted hundreds of fans inside. It was an inspired performance. King Wilkie said they had not played the downtown mall since last playing on the small stage at Miller’s years ago. The audience seemed very pleased to have King Wilkie back home and onstage. Jim Waive and the Yong Divorcees and Sarah White also gave inspired opening performances. Experience again this incredible night of music from the beloved Jefferson Theater, in the comfort of your own surroundings.

Monkeyclaus is proud to present a rare performance of Spectre Folk, from one of our favorite venues -- the Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar in Charlottesville Virginia. The show was recorded on November 23, 2005. Spectre Folk is the mysterious solo project of Pete Nolan, the drummer of the mighty Magik Markers.

The Magik Markers are certainly one of the finest bands of today. Highly critically acclaimed, they are one of the most interesting improvisational bands of all time. Spectre Folk has only played out a handful of times ever -- so this is very exciting to be able to present this. Pete Nolan blessed us with his individual presence. Now you can share in all the glory. Drink a whiskey for Pete. Raise that glass! Then listen up -- and fall into a transparent well of darkness with one eye open -- like some kind of new form of enlightenment. There you will find violins and drums that appear then crumble as emptiness courts melancholy, hiding inside of his silhouette, finding opaque wordplays and guitar that are there in vapor then conk out in the faint sway of the hookah smoke of a dying America at the intersection of Destiny & Disintegration Streets.

Cerberus Shoal is a constantly morphing collective of musical whims. They are exports of Portland, Maine and affiliated with the North East Indie record label. These folks roll thru towns like a circus in a feverdream and leave a heart shaped dent in the local psychic forcefield forever.

Monkeyclaus was fortunate enough to get an exclusive recording of their most recent live appearance at the Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar in Charlottesville, Virginia. The show also featured Micah Blue Smalldone who was unfortunately not captured on tape, as our recording Monkey rushed in from out of town for the show and missed Micah's set. Find him on your own as he is a powerhouse, transmitting beauty thru his voice and his amazing picking and strumming. Cerberus Shoal also granted us a sassy interview which may have you questioning the interior lattice of reason...hmm...ENJOY
