These guys are not stopping anytime soon. Zac has a serious case of songwriting and Morgan has been exposed and is now becoming contageous as well. Look at these pictures but not too long if you are scared of contracting the songwriting bug :

They were also joined by the infamous Piggy but the camera was no where to be found at that time.

Monkey Sessions are always un-predictable. In return, we always encounter amazement. Take a look at Kohoutek , they came, they set up, they played, they packed up, and played a gig in C’ville at the Twisted Branch. Naturally they rocked the studio and the house .
Keep your ears out for the audio from this session .

The Charlottesville All Star David Sickmen is blessing us with more perfect and true songs. I have been blown away with the creativity that comes forth from this mad man songwriter. Sometimes a song is the ultimate form of expression. All the time with David. He is going to give you the full picture, no holding back, he is rolling down the highway with the dog on the front seat. Take a look at the behind the scenes of David recording .

These guys know something special. How cool is a monkeysession? How cool is Free Jazz, Brooklyn, Electric Stand Up Bass, Tie-Dye and Gangster Hats? These guys make my job fun and easy. Everything seemed to fall into place. Thank you Skeletons! Check out some extra behind the scenes pictures .

Recording Birdlips is amazing … Vintage mics and technique down to the circa 1950 Western Electric wires. Reverbs of springs, plates and space echo tape delay. Multi instrumentalist and mastermind Cliff Usher is making a killer album. You will definitely want to get a copy of this record when its released. We are in the final mixing stages now. Here are a few photographs from Birdlips Sessions .

A list of common gear used during a Birdlips Session :
Millenia Origin 1 Pre Amp
Sony C37 Mic
Dbx 160
Urei LA-4
Pultec 3c Filter
Roland Space Echo
Chandler Tg1 Pre Amp

Check out these pictures from the Horsefang recording sessions. Serious effort goes into making this heavy as lead music. I believe they tune down to the key of Hell. These sessions are all about capturing the tones and sweat from the players and leaving it as raw as possible so you can feel and taste the riffs. How many riffs no one really knows. You will have to count them yourself.

Check out some local talent. The Finger Painters rock and let the natural bleed do the trick. That is to say the bleed between amps, mics, drums, rhodes, speakers, and energy. All flows directly through our colorful Van den Hul signal path being organized into 88.2khz 24bit packages. Magic was in the air and now its on the hard drive. Check out these photographs .
