How do I purchase and download audio/video content from Monkeyclaus?
First, browse the Store and Product pages, adding items that you would like to purchase to your Shopping Cart. Once you click 'Checkout' you will be asked to login or register an account, and then enter your payment information. Once the transaction is complete, your items are added automatically to your Account page where they can be downloaded to your computer. Your browser settings will determine where on your computer these files will be saved. In addition to providing the download links, you can also view/listen to your titles directly on your account page whenever you login. (Flash Media Player is required to view your video purchases - you can download the latest version here.)

What is the minimum connection speed I need to download content?
We highly recommend using high-speed internet connections such as DSL or broadband to download digital files! Dial-up connections at 56k may be used, but download times are considerably increased, as well as the potential for dropped or timed-out connections.

What is an mp3 and how do I play downloaded mp3 files?
Mp3 is a popular audio compression format that features high quality audio with very small file sizes. Mp3 files can be played on your computer, transferred to portable mp3 players such as the iPod, or burned to CD-R.

What is a FLAC file?
FLAC is a high-resolution audio format which is functionally similar to MP3 but doesn't cause a decrease in sound quality. The files are considerably larger, but with the price of hard drives dropping so quickly, many people are finding themselves easily able to store a high-quality music collection.

How do I play FLAC in iTunes?
Even though FLAC is very popular and free to implement, Apple has chosen not to allow it in iTunes. Instead, they offer an equivalent format known as Apple Lossless or ALAC, and in order to play your FLAC files in iTunes you will need to convert them. Fortunately, there are several ways to do this, none of which will compromise the sound quality.

How do I convert FLAC to something else?
One method is to burn the FLAC files onto a CD using a program that supports FLAC and then import the new disc using iTunes. There are many options for Windows, but we like Winamp best; on a Mac, you can use Toast. This is the easiest option, but it takes a little time and requires a CD-R. Try to pick up a CD-RW if you'll be doing this often -- it's much better for the environment. If you don't want to waste a CD-R each time, you can also directly convert from FLAC to the ALAC. On Windows, the easiest option is dBpowerAmp, but if you already have it installed, Winamp should also be able to do it too. On a Mac, you can use Max for OS version 10.4/Tiger or later. XLD is probably your best option if you're using 10.3/Panther. If you're on Linux, you should be ashamed of yourself for reading these instructions in the first place. As a last-ditch effort, you can also convert the FLAC files into WAV format and then use iTunes to convert the WAV files to ALAC. This is somewhat inconvenient because the file metadata identifying the track numbers and song titles is lost, but in most cases that same information is also reflected in the filename or available on the internet, so you should be able to reconstruct it fairly quickly. On any operating system, installing FLAC should include the tools with which to do this, and usually it's just a matter of dragging the files into the converter window and choosing "decompress." Further, you can find a fairly thorough list of FLAC-enabled tools and applications at the official site.
