Monkeyclaus has been noticeably off the radar for the past many months. We are sure many folks wonder what became of us. We have taken this time to reorganize, refocus, and realign with the universe. We also hand built a digital download store to help unsigned bands and smaller labels sell their music online. This was no small task.

We are very proud of our store and excited about the possibilities which it presents. For each sale through our new store, we will give 10% of the transaction cost to the Seva foundation. They are an inspiring organization, who assist developing communities worldwide. (From their website...) "Our programs serve people who have been economically, politically, or otherwise marginalized. We change our program approach to relate to their culture and circumstances, reaching out in very different ways, for example, to nomads in Tibet, women in Tanzania, or indigenous Mayans in Guatemala. Our aim is to build a bridge of compassion between our donors and the people we serve — people around the world who have the fewest resources."

As we grow we will work with many more charitable organizations and hope to receive feedback and suggestions from bands, labels, and music fans interacting with our site. In our arrangement with labels and bands, the remaining 90% of the purchase cost will be split equally between Monkeyclaus and the label / band. (depending on their own agreements and arrangements)

Our hope is that with our genuine homespun approach we can reach fans and encourage the purchase of independent music, rather than the free accumulation of music which leaves hard working independent labels and bands, completely uncompensated. Monkeyclaus will use it's share, to offset development costs, provide a living wage and health insurance to employees, to grow and prosper, and to continue to reinvent itself with the goal of preserving music culture and promoting progressive global social and economic change.
